Organize fund raising projects – Eg. Fashion Shows, Sales, Coffee Mornings, Walks, Dinners etc….
The SLFVH receives a modest annual grant from the Department of Social Services. In addition the fund raising projects of the Federation brings in some income. It is however the donations given by generous well wishes that constitutes the major portion of our earnings. These include social service organisations, concerned civil society organisations and philanthropists.
The regular fund raising programmes of the SLFVH include conducting the flag day, sending out appeal letters and placing of charity boxes in institutions and businesses. The flag week is usually conducted in October to coincide with the International White Cane Day. This activity targets the Local Authorities around the country, schools and the estate sector.
The Charity Box scheme has also proved to be a growing source of funds.
